Concerning the GBA emulator, as far as I know, I was the last to work on igpSP for the iPodLinux project and still have the the last GPL'd source code fresh for modification in my SVN repos. Having not followed the Rockbox project much, I'm unsure if any practical/universal plugin was ever developed. Either way, assuming the ports for the newer generation iPods are in working enough state to support emulators such as gpSP and there is someone willing to guide me through the Rockbox plugin porting basics, I can probably work on an initial port of igpSP to Rockbox (or at least the current experimental branch) if there's enough interest. Assuming that most of the hardware access problems have been overcome, I wouldn't see anything preventing the newer generation iPods from being able to run a GBA emulator and decent speeds, especially considering the better hardware. Edit: Sorry, I misread Jacob's (misspelled) post - I thought he was asking for a GBA emulator, not GB. Still, the above applies. To Keanen Shaw: In the real world, there's a popular saying: You get what you paid for. While this does not exactly apply in the open source software community (since everything is "free" as in both "freedom" and "free beer"), the base case still works: Don't expect something from nothing. The developers here spend countless hours of their free time to do VOLUNTEER programming that usually benefit the community more than themselves. They are NOT getting paid for this nor do they HAVE to meet any deadlines. That said, they are under NO obligation to listen to the whining of unappreciative end users. If you're not willing to even bother "wasting" your time doing a simple compilation or Google search, why should any developer? Much of the work I've personally done was not because I wanted it but usually because I knew a lot of others do but just do not have the programming knowledge to do it. In all cases, I am motivated to continue my work when I see end users satisfyingly reply and give POSITIVE comments and feedback. Not all programmers think that way; never take such attitudes for granted. If you want an informative response, however, I would highly recommend you take your time to read Ari's nicely written post. Working on the SansaLinux port was quite difficult (with all the blind testing) until someone nicely donated me a working Sansa e200. The best way to get increased support for new hardware would of course be putting said new hardware in a developer's hands. ~Keripo Philip Peng School of Engineering and Applied Science University of Pennsylvania (215) 385-6227 / (215) 417-7314 Quoting linux4nano-dev-requ...@gna.org: > Send Linux4nano-dev mailing list submissions to > linux4nano-dev@gna.org > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/linux4nano-dev > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > linux4nano-dev-requ...@gna.org > > You can reach the person managing the list at > linux4nano-dev-ow...@gna.org > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Linux4nano-dev digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1.
