Hi, Well, there never has been any effort to porting linux for the 2g nano. So you would have to start from the beginning. If I were you I'd study the rockbox drivers. They are for the most part stable except from maybe the flash translation layer which still has some bugs.
Maybe there will be some people who want to join you after you have done some work but honestly I don't know. Most people care about rockbox at the moment.
