Hi. I've been helping Grzegorz Goryszewski track down a problem he's
having with the CCSID 870 to ISO-8859-2 mapping in tn5250.
I tracked it down to recode itself. It looks like RFC1345 defines
"IBM870" differently to IBM (now) defines CCSID 870. recode, as well
as glibc's iconv function, are based on RFC1345; and transmaps.h in
tn5250 is generated from recode's output.
I posted a message about this to the recode list, but haven't heard
anything back about it. The best solution at this stage looks like
generating transmaps.h from separate tables; it wouldn't take me too
long to write this.
Does anyone have any other ideas?
And since I'll be redoing this, does anyone have any idea which CCSIDs
are being used with tn5250? I imagine most people on this list would
be using 37, but I know there's people using 273 and 870 as well.
