No, I mean filter in addition to outputcommand.  For example:

lp5250d ... filter=pdf outputcommand='cat > /tmp/printer.$$'
lp5250d ... filter=ascii outputcommand='cat > /tmp/printer.$$'

want to send to your
print command.

`filter' is probably not the best word, maybe `outputformat'?
