Thanks for the link. Hmm, I just read the entire API in under five minutes. It's terribly underwhelming: I'm all of a sudden not so intimidated by these weird Twinax cards ;-) This API is a bit Windows-centric, though. Under Linux, the direct API is going to be reading and writing records from a character device, but it should be easy to implement this API on top of it, especially since a lot of the functions look like "pop this flag into a packet and send it" (SendPrinterStatus, ResetPrinter, SendDisplayData, SendCursorPosition... all of these are going to be pretty easy). It also doesn't seem as dependent on the SNA stuff as I might have thought. I'm going to go looking through linux-sna and discussing with some of those people and do some research, and unless I find that someone has already done this for Linux (I highly doubt it), I'm going to start a SourceForge project. Anyone who is interested in participating or just being on said mailing list, drop me a line so I can sign you up when I get some stuff together. -Jay 'Eraserhead' Felice > > Best Regards, > > /Paul > -- > Paul Tykodi > Director, Printer Connectivity Product Management > LCI-Intermate US, Inc. > > p: 603.431.0606 x115 > f: 603.436.6432 > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > www.intermate.com _______________________________________________ This is the Linux 5250 Development Project (LINUX5250) mailing list To post a message email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/linux5250 or email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/linux5250.
