Why not use Netscape Security Services (NSS) for SSL support like
Evolution (the GNOME PIM)
<http://www.ximian.com/products/ximian_evolution/> does? They are
cross-platform, and licensed under the MPL, GPL, and LGPL (take your
pick :)
