I use lp5250d very extensively. At any given time, the company that I
work for is running 20-25 printers using lp5250d. Most of them are used
on manufacturing lines where downtime would be very costly, and we haven't
had any real problems with it.
In fact, I've got one server that is running 9 processes running lp5250d
concurrently, since it has that many printers attached. No problems.

Strange. What does your config look like? Are you using a tn5250rc? If
so, could you post it? If not, could you post the command-line you're
using?
