Scott, James:
I would strongly encourage you to submit a session on the emulator. I will
be there! ( and since I am in a position to influence scheduling I would
bet it gets accepted and scheduled)
Scott, You are partly correct, we will have some concentration on Linux as
a partition on the iSeries, however, the focus of the conference is Linux
in general and how it affects the data center we work in. That includes
other brand X servers, xSeries and pSeries to the extent an iSeries centric
shop needs to deal with them. It most certainly includes the desktop. The
only reason I run a windows machine is my Notes client I need, and the
iSeries Access that I also need very much. (IBM is working to make both
these products browser based to eliminate the restriction) Because I need
more education on linux, and the 5250 emulator you folks work on in
specific, I would hope you would consider (as a group if nothing else)
submitting a session.
If nothing else I would set up a BOF (Birds Of a Feather) session for all
the list participants that are in San Antonio to get together at the very
least.
