Not exactly a presentation for the meetings but might be of interest to
HamLUG members...
I am about to run some cable and lines for cable TV and Ethernet at my
home. If anybody from HamLUG or other users groups is interested in seeing
it done, we could schedule a time for interest people to come over, see
some of the techniques, and get some hands on experience. This can be
really great for people who though of putting in Cat 5 Ethernet outlets in
their homes but cringe at the thought of cutting into the walls. I can
show some of the ways to pull cable through walls, how to crimp the
connectors on lengths of bulk cable, install wall plates, etc. And if
anybody has hints, insights, tips, I am open to them.
There would be no charge for this session. Only condition would be an
understanding that it is opportunity to watch and, if one wants, to give a
helping hand. No guantee that the techniques shown would work for every
house. And of course, this entials being ready to get a little dusty and
dirty.
Anybody interested for a session some Sunday in September?
