At TCF...
It would be nice to have a network demo and maybe
show etherape. It would be nice to allow people to
register or join online or get people on an email
list right at the table at TCF. It would be nice
to have a live internet connection. It would be
nice to support speakers who come from our group
with equipment setup and demos for their talk.
However...

One thing that concerns me, as I think of bringing
my equipment, is the safety and security of the
equipment. It's easy for laptops and things to
walk away if they are unattended in an environment
like that. Personally, I'd be reluctant to bring a
box of my own and would want to assure that it
won't be left alone. I'd be more likely to bring a
laptop that was only used when I was there
personally and then carry it around with me while
I was cruising the show (that may be my best
solution). And then what about my hub and whatever
else?

That brings up the issue of volunteer coverage and
schedules and committments and sufficient numbers
of people present so a table sitter can take a
trip to the head or get some food and not ever
leave the table unattended.

Volunteers and scheduling and committments may be
basic to whether we should even consider using any
equipment or providing demos of what Linux can do
or anything showy or fancy.

Any comments on this?
