Wow, your browser is way more responsive than mine! ;-)

I wasn't planning to reply to this thread...

Since when has a 5.25" floppy ever been able to hold 1.44M of data?

That looks like a mis-labelled 3.5" drive.

I've already got one of these external 3.5" USB floppy drives.

Here's the best I could find on Amazon.ca:

https://www.amazon.ca/Teac-FD235HFC929-Black-Green-Compliant/dp/B000FVDLAU/ref=pd_rhf_dp_s_di_int_pop_multi_srecs_sabr_cn_d_sccl_1_5/140-5373003-7372012?pd_rd_w=gxtII&content-id=amzn1.sym.2e0520d1-37e7-41f7-a665-14791b1d5ad1&pf_rd_p=2e0520d1-37e7-41f7-a665-14791b1d5ad1&pf_rd_r=4PFRPC7P5P40CAJ6M49J&pd_rd_wg=ohdpP&pd_rd_r=8d75b733-0534-49c5-9622-2a2de1fbc258&pd_rd_i=B000FVDLAU&psc=1

However, that is an internal parallel interface.

I also have a Dell Precision 370 machine here with both 5.25" and 3.5"
internal parallel interface floppy drives. It ran Linux. I haven't
booted it in at least a decade... It does have USB and Ethernet
interfaces, so the chances of getting that data off a 5.25" to something
usefully modern are non-zero.

I have at least two other older machines with both 5.25" and 3.5" floppy
drives, including one that was an early OCLUG tux machine that predates
the OCLUG tux V20z Sun Fire 1U blade that is still in my DEC 19" rack
(including its identical HW backup). The V20z machines have 3.5"
floppies and CD/DVD only.
