I've just released Remind 06.01.07 that has a few nice TkRemind
improvements.  You might want to download it and have a look.

Gentoo is still only on 05.03.02, but rolling a local ebuild works seamlessly for 06.01.07

As for having a gui as a wrapper around an independent back end, I'm in complete agreement. Being scriptable and regression testable makes life so much more manageable.
