Hi all,

I've been trying to get SimplyMepis to control the fan on this
computer, so that it won't overheat.

If the computer is cold when booted, the fan doesn't work at all.
If the computer is warm, the fan turns on, and stays on.

I believe this means that the BIOS have checked the temperature, and
switched it on. It is preferable, I presume, to get acpi to control
the temperature and fan etc.

I've installed acpid (in the blind hope that this might help somehow).

I've been led to believe that I should activate thermal and fan
support in the kernel and recompile. Not totally sure what this would
mean in practice.

I've copied in a pile of possibly relevant readouts, in the hope that
someone might have some bright idea.

The computer, by the way, is a Toshiba A60-302.

Thanks in advance.
