 2512 ?        Ss     0:00 /usr/sbin/sshd
 7347 pts/1    R+     0:00 grep sshd

I think that means it's running?

still getting 'no route to host    lost connection'

Maybe I should mention - I'm using SuSE on the machine I'm copying from and 
Fedora Core 3 or the machine I'm copying to.  Does that make a difference?
