www.distrowatch.com just let us know that Xandros free download wasavailable
via bit torrent. It should be easy to get done with it,just have to add the
needed file from the Internet to be able to playHollywood type DVDs, until they
change that is. It you're abudding film producer Suse comes with a trial
version of MainActor. Other than that there are LiveCDs who specialize
inAudio/Video, perhaps others know more.

Hey all,
I hoping someone can help me I'm trying to get
multimedia working on an
HP Omnibook 900
Basically I have no idea where to start. I've been
messing around with
Linux for a while but I have had no real success in
understanding the
process for getting multimedia to work on Linux.
I'm a windows guy and
I'm not afraid of the command prompt but there
doesn't seem to be any
logic to where applications go to get their output
information. So if
some kind soul can't point me to some logic that
will help get this
straight and fix this.
I'd like to get XMMS and Totem or Xine working with
audio. I'd prefer
to get this working with XFCE or Gnome but I'd
settle for KDE (If WM
even matters).
If anyone has any pointer or suggested reading to
figure this out I
would be very grateful.
