I hoping someone can help me with this. Ive just installed mandrake
10.1. Prior to install, I backed up /home to a cdrw, & checked it to
make sure.
During install, I opted to format my home partition, as I assumed it
safe. After installation, I found the cdrw disc is blank.
I dual boot this machine with Win2k. Ive downloaded & run R-Linux,
which has found some files. These have been copied to a spare drive
(formatted ntfs) as a couple of image files, and also as folders of
files. The files are all named $inode210530, etc.
What I need is some advice on what to do with these files / images.
The images are enormous, 2-3 gig.How do I deal with these?
The $inode files seem to contain very little useful information, &
there heaps of them. Is there a way to check the contents other than
1 at a time with vi?
Any help would be most appreciated.
