I am a ubuntu fan, what was it you didn't like about r> Ubuntu? Isn't Linspire/Lindows a 'pay as you download' OS of some sort? I tried a Lindows disk I picked up on eBay a while back, on one of my junk boxes. It installed in full GUI mode, offering zero install options, and it contained a very minimal set of apps. Connecting to it application repository involved purchasing a paid subscription, IIRC, and I was not interested in paying any money, to see what it bought. I do have a paid-for licence for my Red Hat Enterprise installation, which is well worth the cost, for the convenience of not having to keep up-to-date myself, on all the updates/patches, for the various non-core apps I have running on the box. Red Hat was the first distro I tried, and I have been using it for five years (versions 7, 9 and now Enterprise 3), so I knew the distro fairly well, before I ever actually paid for a license. -wittig website: http://www.robertwittig.com/ weblog: http://robertcwittig.blogspot.com/ . ------------------------ Yahoo!
