Hi, You may need to use your Mandrake 10 CD as a Rescue CD, or some other LiveCD for this I think. Also check your BIOS setup is correct for auto-detecting your drives. I presume you shutdown before removing the slave hard drive. I'm not sure how Mandrake would react to hardware changes, that's one reason Xandros became so popular in the beginning.
