Sounds like the XP system is not using the same listing of usernames and
passwords as the linux box. (as a guess).

Subject: [LINUX_Newbies] Help with adding users

Hello

The person that was maintaing our linux server has left. We have two
new employees and all I am trying to do is add them as new users and
give them rights to two directors. I am doing this all from the
command line.

I used the useradd command to added two new users, and add them to
existing groups (accounting and public). I also set their passwords.

I tested the login from the server console. But when I go a windows
XP systems and try to connect to the Linux server by mapping a
network drive to the two folders, it will not allow to me login.

What am I doing wrong?

Please help.

Thank you
Afram
