Had the same problem myself, until today. Just follow the instructions on this
webpage, worked for me.

  Hi,
I' ve Fedora core 4 and I want to access a partition NTFS (in RO mode) which
is in /dev/sda5 and I would like mount it in /mount/WinXp (previously
created).
  I type
  mount -t ntfs /dev/sda5 /mnt/WinXp

But the system says that type ntfs unknow. /etc/fstab is OK

I observed that in a config file from /boot directory says that NTFS file
type is not available.

what I must do? how activate this option ...
