I'm sure this has been said before... 

Look at your needs.  Look at your budget.  Pick components that fit
both, as best you can.  Be careful not to sacrifice too much on one
thing, for the benefit of the other, or you might find yourself with a
you-beaut, state of the art graphics card and not enough processor
speed, or some similar catastrophe.   

And most importantly, don't rush.  Or you won't be happy with what you
end up with.
