The only thing that I can tell you is that the media test doesn't always
give accurate results--I've had failed media tests, redownloaded,
reburned, and got bad media again, according to the test. I said the
heck with it and installed anyway, and it was fine. 

I don't know how FC does with Sata though. Still, I suspect the problem
is elsewhere than the media.
