Hi,
I have an old Sony Vaio PCG-XG700K laptop that has the original
Windows 2000 Professional on it. The HD has two partitions, a C:
partion of about 7Gb for the OS etc. and the D: has the rest of the 40Gb.
I would like to be able to install Linux (RedHat or any other flavor)
either in the second partion or, if practical, just dump the old
Windows OS and make the whole box Linux.
Are either of these approaches doable? If so how much work is it and
how good a knowledge of Linux does one need. (BTW - I am a software
engineer, but I've always worked in either Windows or Solaris and
never installed Linux on anything).
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
Linda
