Yes, that was typical Sony Brilliance.  A few users had that laptop,
and, of course, had no idea of the use of the second partition so
quickly filled up the C: drive.  When I would wind up reinstalling for
them, I simply deleted the D: partition--it was really too difficult to
explain to them that they could use D: for storaae.

IIRC, however, the D: partition had no system files, and could be safely
eliminated, still allowing you to use the MS O/S on it.  

Either way, I don't recollect much trouble with the Sony--and this, I
think was the super slim laptop.  I believe  successfully installed
ArchLinux, Gentoo and FreeBSD's then CURRENT 5.x on it.
