When I attempt to play a commercial music CD on my computer using
gnome-cd or kscd, no sound comes out. The gui cd player looks like it
is playing just fine, identifies the singer's name, the tracks, etc.,
but no sound is coming out.
I play mp3's from my harddrive with xmms and avi files with totem movie
player or kaffeine with excellent sound -- no problems there. I can
play DVD movies from the DVD drive with no sound problem. I just cannot
play music CD's.
(My operating system is Debian Sarge.)
