I bet you have a prefab computer from like Dell or IBM or something,
right? I'd be willing to bet that if you cracked open the box, you'd
notice that there is only an IDE ribbon cable running out of your
CD-ROM. There should be another port or two on the back of your drive
for CD audio, analog and/or S-PDIF. Connect one of those to your sound
card and you should be good to go.
