When you install the operating system, you will probably need to make
several partitions, one of which will be a SWAP file.

No... in fact, it cannot be FAT32, it will be a Linux SWAP partition
(unless Puppy Linux is RADICALLY different for other Linux distros).

I have no experience with Puppy Linux, but most (if not all) modern
Linux distros have good on-line documentation on how to install and
run their operating systems.

You might want to consider reading the installation section, it is
usually a good place to get started.
