             Virtual based hosting is the new feature of httpd version2.0 ..
   Here is a simple explanation:-
       1.In ip based hosting.. Inorder to host a site u need ip for each and 
evry site....So either u have to create virtual ips or u have to add more n/w 
cards...
  But this is not possible in the case of a webhosting company..right????
  So they introduced a new feature ...name based virtual hosting...
       Name based virtual hosting is ,U can host any number of sites in a 
single ip address...May be u will wonder how its happening...Nothing to worry 
...Dns will handle the correct forwarding.....
   
  U can go to apahe.org for more explanation....
  Hope this will give u a rough idea....
