Hello
Sorry for the delay.
C is primary partition, D is extended.
E is right now primary, but we may have to delete it.
How do we proceed???
Thanks

Hi All
I am a newbie. I have a Fedora Core 5 DVD, and a linux bootable CD.
On my PC which is running XP, I have a CD drive, which can't run DVD.
Though on my laptop I do have a DVD drive.
How do I install Fedora code 5 on my PC.
I can boot from the CD.
Then entering : linux askmethod
it asks me to install using:
1. NFS
2. FTP
3. HTTP
4. Hard Disk
If I choose 4 it gives me options:
1. /hda1
2. /hda5
On my hard disk I have 3 partitions - C, D, E - all FAT32
I have a dump and a *.iso image file on D drive
E is empty where I want to install Fedora
How should I proceed with Hard Disk Installation.
Also, which option should I choose if am intalling from my Laptop over a
network.
And how should I proceed with network installation.
Thanks
Sirius

Hi Sirius,
The linux partition nomenclature is different from that of windows. So it is
difficult to tell the linux partition name from windows names(i.e., C:, D:
or E:) without knowing your disk partitioning layout.
1. Boot your PC in windows.
2. Click Start > Run and type "diskmgmt.msc"(without quotes).
3. In the window that opens up, you would see all your primary partitions in
dark blue and logical volumes in light blue.
Please tell me the color of each drive that you see here and the order in
which your drives are listed in the figure at bottom of the window.
Regards,
Bhanu.
