I was trying to install Sabayon Linux on my /dev/hda4. It uses a
graphical installtion so all I did was point and click. When the
installation asked me where to install GRUB there were only two
choices:

Master Boot Record (dev/hda)
Root Partition (/dev/hda4)

I checked the box next to Master Boot Record. However, it wouldn't
overwrite the LILO present on the MBR which was installed by another
distro residing on /dev/hda3. Any ideas?
