Andy, Try this interview form... it asks simple enough questions and encourages a distro based on your answers: http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/index.php
Some distros are more involved like Arch, Gentoo, etc. whereas some are more "canned" like Fedora, Ubuntu. In North America, there are domestic car models and import/foreign ones. As these are two choices in cars, there are at least two major "chasis" choices in Linux: Debian & RPM-based. A future option for a newbie might be to compile a program or programs on their box, but this is more involved. Check out this page as well after install of your distro: http://www.tldp.org HTH - jontheisguy ____________________________________________________________________________________ Access over 1 million songs - Yahoo!
