Hi All,
I often use the Live-DVD Knoppix that came with the Linux Format's
issue 84. The DVD boots to a grub menu with Mepis and Knoppix
options. The normal Knoppix option automatically boots to the KDE
desktop. But I don't have heaps of memory, and I've come across a
program that requires more to run properly. So, I would like to try
to boot into a lighter window manager instead of KDE, but I'm confused
by the grub boot manager. I've tried to edit the boot command line,
but it didn't work -- it still booted to KDE.
Does anyone know how to change the boot command line in grub so that
Knoppix will use a different window manager?
And if anyone knows which WM is lightest on resources, that would be a
great help too.
