Hi there guys n gals

After a painful period of internet research on discussion groups and faqs
and forums I've found out that a lot of my data's are missing. don't know
how that happened btw. so, here's what happens when I turn my beast on:
everything goes fine till the boot loader pops up. If I choose to load
windows 98 it says that the system disk is wrong and tells me to put the
valid one and then press the "any" key. eventually when I press that "any"
key without putting the win cd in the drive, which needless to say I don't
posses any, the system turns back to the suse bootloader menu. If I choose
to load linux, along with a bunch of failed operations I get in the linux
suse 9.1 kernel.

*login: root*
*FATAL: cannot change permission of TTY: Read only file system*
*password:*

in here i find 386 files. no idea of how to get in anywhere else. funny
thing is that when i TERM it shuts down all the services like kdm, gnome or
cdrom daemon. probably because linux loads them everytime I run the
machine.

In failsafe, the same things without the cool blue background and small
fonts(:

Now; hence I am, for now, only interested to get to windows without damaging
it and hence I don't have back-ups of my datas and don't have a win cd but
have suse; how can I format, or repair, linux?

thanx for the interest
arial
