I started up SUsE, and could only log-in in a text interface (probably a stupid problem, but I didn't feel like trying fix it). It might of had something to do with the fact that I was trying to run three monitors. Then the next day I started up Windows (the last unbroken distro) and it gave me a blue screen! So I said "That's it! I'm formatting my hard drive!" Now I am having trouble getting Linux to see my sda, but that's another thread. So maybe it was not the best way to fix it, but it worked! I used my Mepis live disk (PCLinuxOS may work as well, but MEPIS is very forgiving of permissions and I have not found a file it won't allow me to edit yet) and using the file manager in Super User mode, I went to the offending .xorg file in the root directory on my hard drive (usually /etc/X11) and edited the xorg.conf file using a text editor (in this case Kate). I merely deleted the changes made to the file to make compiz-fusion work which is what got me into the trouble in the first place. I re-booted and everything worked fine. There should be a backup file in that directory which you can use to make changes from as well.
