I am new to Linux but have been Linux-curious for some time. I finally
downloaded Damn Small Linux 4.1 as my first victim to play with. I got
it up and running, online, and installed on my hard drive. I can surf
with Mozilla but what I really would like to do is install Yahoo
messenger or Pidgin/Gaim that will run Yahoo messenger. I have tried
downloading both but I have no idea how to get it installed and
running. There are no icons on my desktop for them and when I typed
the line in the root box like Yahoo said to do, it says Command not
found. I am obviously doing something wrong. What is the protocol to
download and install a new Linux friendly program and how does it
differ from Windows? Thanks.
Lorrie
