Clamav was the one. I finally deleted the app. I also have a problem when I try to install from synaptic. I get the error ,W:failed to fetch http://I have Comcast .net. I can get into Mozilla ,using comcast.net. I can send emails from the linux computer as well. The problem is that Konqueror is the default browser for the system and I can't use the apps included in Synaptic. I would also like Konqueror to display properly but that is in another question I just posted. .

I know that Clam-AV runs on Linux servers, to keep email accounts clean for clients running Microsoft Operating Systems, but in the 9 years I have been running Linux, I have never had need of an anti-virus program. What is the name of the AV app you are trying to install, and what is the URL you downloaded it from? -- -wittig http://www.robertwittig.com/ http://robertwittig.net/ http://robertwittig.org/ .. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
