Apologies if this question has been asked/answered a bazillion times
already.
I have a Pentium I -166Mhz and a Pentium 2-266 Mhz that haven't seen
use since the previous millennium .
Even the local charities aren't interested in them and I am reluctant
to simply toss them.
I'm wondering if either would be of any real use if they were to have
a Linux OS installed on them ?
In particular, I'm wondering if they would be okay for email and web
browsing, without the user having to wait an half hour or more every
time the thing is turned on, for anti-virus/anti-spam software to
ready the machine and make it safe to connect to the web ?
While I'm here, perhaps I should also ask what the minimum
requirements would be to set up a Linux partition on my P-IV system
as well ?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to enlighten this long-time
Windoze User who has grown tired of the constant "need" to update
everything even though the "old" one was just fine.
