I've gone to the eeeuser.com site and got most of my leads for OSes there. I am looking forward to a newer version of eeePCLOS based on the next release. I like eeeDora for its simplicity and speed. I am hoping that a newer version of it will fix the wireless problem or that new drivers will be added to the repositories.
I have Xandros on the main drives and Ubuntu is running from a 8 GB SD card. It seems slower than it should be which is why I am looking around. I may try Ubuntu Lite. I've heard that Mandriva works out of the box so may give the Mini version a try. With 1Gb of RAM, I expected Ubuntu to run faster or at least as fast as Xandros (which it is not). I wonder if the SDHC card (version 6) is slower than the build in solid state drives. Roy Linux: Fast, friendly, flexible and .... free! Of course, now that that card (the 5007EG) will be supported in the new 2.6.27 kernel, ASUS changed it to some realtek. There are some threads on Fedora forums that might be of use--try the forum and search for the EEE PC.
