Hi.
I would like to know how complete the support for Intel's 440BX chipset is?
I would very much like to use LinuxBIOS for an embedded real-time system
using an Asus P2B motherboard. The P2B is 440BX-based. If memory auto config
is not supported I could just as well use a static memory configuration if
that is possible.
I have a DoC Milennium and I thought I could just load the normal Award bios
onto it just to get the DoC running in Linux. However, I did not find any
similar utility to the flash_on utility for SiS630 for 440BX. Do I need a
utility like this to get the DoC up and running in Linux?
I don't have an additional socket for the DoC. I just pull the original bios
out after booting and insert the DoC in its place.
Is it at all possible to load the standard bios onto the DoC, have the
computer boot as usual but use the rest of the DoC for storage in Linux. I
realize that is useless but I am just experimenting. The standard Asus flash
utility (aflash.exe) would not do it since it didn't reconize the flash.
I would appreciate any info and I must say I like your project a lot.
Thanks.
Daniel
