MODVERSIONS itself is just utterly broken. It should get fixed in 2.5,
thankfully.

Or just have a separate 'map' driver for each mainboard - the user tells
the kernel which board by compiling in the appropriate driver.
Take a look at the l440gx one I just committed. Does that look sane?
