I think it would help a LOT if part of the process of creating a build directory was to put the mkelfImage tree in there. In other words, when I configure smartcore-p5, and cd to smartcore-p5, there would be a bin/mkelfImage directory in there, share, etc., so that I had in that directory a working mkelfImage for that target. Then people would not have to hunt around and try to figure out what to do; also, the update of mkelfImage would be much better when people cvs update.
