hi!
great article philip! there's just a few grammatical suggestions in the
first para that i've made...i've put what needs to be added in brackets, and
what needs to be cut, in asterisks. (see below)
The rest is perfect.
Also, we need to collect specific references of the articles which have
misused the term. This will help the poor newsguys to identify the blokes who
made the screwup.
I suggest we post this article to the major Indian portals..they are always
on the lookout for content anyway...
email to ''Outlook'' , Indian Express ??
how do we make this known to the Information and Broadcasting ministry?

The Internet in India is growing rapidly and with it, (so are)several new
business models, entertainment avenues and educational opportunities. The
Internet has also (exposed us) *opened us up* to security risks that come
with connecting *yourself* to a large network.
The media has always latched on to stories of (so-called)`hackers' breaking
into computer systems and wreaking havoc. *This article attempts to set the
record straight by assigning correct terminology the process and
persons involved.* (rewrite as-- this article is a sincere attempt to set
the record straight as far as the terminology and process of 'hacking' is
concerned)
