Okay, everyone, thanks for your responses. The consensus seems to be:
Single-floppy distros are available to tweak.
I should RTFM or pay for the null modem cable.
Cool. Now to clean my floppy drive -- it's started scratching disks again.
Anyone know how to dd a disk image to /dev/fd0 so that bad sectors are
(... detected if possible, and...) avoided?
