If U do not have a network card  U'll have to use a serial / parallel
cable. Its described well in the HOwtos... can't remember the name.
notebooks... mobile devices ...or something like that.

Usually U will have a PCI slot. for faster installs... set up a mini
network One main linux machine & the laptop. ( 2 network cards.. ) ..
Use a micro linux OS that works of a floppy & boot the laptop... setup
the network .. and have fun.

tip: make sure that Ur Floppy-based linux OS can detect Ur network card.

U can do a similar thing via a cable  but things will be slower.
