Hi,
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
I have just visited the freeos site and I am sorry , but I
couldn't find the rates that they charge for the CDs anywhere.
Maybe I missed the right link.Hope I don't look too silly.. ;)
As for gtcdrom, they didn't have Mandrake 7.1 as of yesterday.
That is why I wrote asking if Tushar would be willing to burn
the CDs for me.Today, however the Mandrake CD is available.
They are charging Rs.400 for the 2 Mandrake CDs (downloadable ver.)
They still aren't offering Debian 2.2 untill September. It will cost
Rs.599.
Actually , I have been running Linux for about 6 months now and I realise
that most die-hards consider Debian to be the one true Linux distro.
However,I heard that it is really hard for newbies to configure properly.
As I am someone who likes doing things on my own,I have stuck to
RH so far.Things have gone by without a hitch so far.
Do you all think that after this much time using Linux that I could
maybe consider using Debian.Or should I stick to the commercial distros?
I'd really appreciate some advice on this matter.
Anyway Tushar, if you don't mind I would like to save a little money ; ) and
get either Mandrake or Debian from you if it isn't too much trouble.
I can definitely BMOM (Bring My Own Media ; ) You just name the time and the
place and I'll be there.
Thanks once again.
Michael.
