Sir,
I am using RedHat 6.2 as well as Windows 98. My PC configuration is
Pentium MMX 200MHz
4.3 GB HDD
64 MB EDO RAM
S3 Trio 64V2/DX display card with 2MB VRAM
Opti-16 bit sound card (ISA)
Samtron 14" SVGA monitor.

The system works fine except the display in Linux. The Linux kernell doesn't accept my
card to be S3 card. Instead it warns me that its a pirated card and Chipset is
SigmaDesigns RealMagic 64/GX(SD 6425). There is no driver available on the system for
this chipset. and it can't work with S3's X-server. The kernell also doesn't accept my
VRAM to be 2 Mb. Hence I have to configure it as a generic VGA card with a 16 colour
display resolution of 640x480.
The worst thing is that the same card works absolutely fine under Windows98. I can
easily get a resolution of 800x600 at 32 bit colour depth.
Because of this I can't use any Linux applications like Vmware, StarOffice, etc and
Games.

Please help me.
