Mail from ILUG-BOM list (Non-Digest Mode)

hi,
recently i removed my CDROm drive to get it repaired..during this time my
friend was working on my Linux box....
i then got my Cdrom drive back and put it again on my box after which its
stopped working...
message
/dev/cdrom is not a block device
also /dev/cdrom is a shortcut which points to /dev/hdb
do i changed the device name to /dev/hdb and made the required changes in
fstab but
the bloody thing wont work......i used to work b4 i removed it from the box
advice...advice
