Linux Installation on a Laptop

Hello friends,
 
  i have a 80486 DX 66 mhz laptop with 8 mb ram and 534 mb hdd ,1.44fdd
(which 
is not working),no cdrom drive .
I plan to install redhat 5.0 or slackware on it ,how should i go abt it.
the problem is how do i connect it to my computer to load the OS .
What will be the h/w reqd to get the laptop running on rh5.0?
OR 
 How do i make a simple n/w of my 486 pc and the laptop using min h/w 
and lost cost of reqd h/w .
Help would be a million to me .
