Hi Everybody,
I was trying to install RED HAT Linux 5.2 on my home PC which is
self assembled . I could manage to install the same at my friend's pc's
using same CDROM drive & CD. I am giving you the details of my system &
error below.
Root Partition size i have tried from 500 Mb to 2 Gb
Swap Partition 64 MB & 128 MB .
Motherboard - 05/18/98-580VPx-VIA836-2A5LDSHBC-00
Award Moduler BIOS v4.51PG
SV-P55TUP rev 1.2
Cyrix CPU - 6x86MX-PR200
Plug & Play BIOS v1.0A
32 MB RAM 4.3 GB SAMSUNG HDD (WIN95 loaded). (Even i have tried it with
formatting this disk with dos and then installing RED HAT 5.2 )
Cyrix PCI VGA card .
System returns following error within installation.
RPM install of kernel failed:
unpacking of archive failed on file
/lib/modules/2.0.36-0.7/scsi153c7.8xx.0:
No such file or directory.
If i press returned their (on OK ) system gives same error as above but
instead of "No such file or directory" gives "No space left on device"
error.
I have referred HOWTOS also, But could not find anything related with my
problem.
