Hi,

I installed GNOME and Enlightenment on my system and tried to use it. But
the system keeps throwing error messages at me like "not defined
gtk-imlib-something" and other stuff.

I tried editing the following files:
/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
/etc/X11/xinit/Xclients
These attempts were based on the earlier messages on the ML.

I also tried editing the file $HOME/.Xclients so that it only had one line
"exec gnome-seesion" , just as it says in PCQuest. But still the whole
thing doesnt work.

I also tried Erle Pereira's "hack" about running Enlightenment from an
Xterm. Here, "gnome-session" gave the same error again but enlightenment
was a partial success. I got a blank screen and similar to fvwm, I got a
menu if I clicked anywhere with both mouse buttons. But GNOME still wouldnt
start.

This time, help would mean a GODZILLION top me.
Sameer.

PS: IMHO, something's terribly wrong with my GNOME installation. Is there
any utility which can check whether all the dependencies for the GNOME and
Enlightment packages are in order? rpm doesnt seem to have any option for
this and the gnome-core and other packages dont show up on glint (or at
least, I counldnt find them)
